Spreadshop at MCON: Talking Merch With Veterans, Las Vegas Chamber, and More

Spreadshop recently had the exciting opportunity to attend MCON in Las Vegas, a high-energy annual event put on by veterans, for veterans. MCON’s mission: to bring together veterans, entrepreneurs, and organizations passionate about supporting those who have served. And the conference proved to be a dynamic atmosphere for networking, knowledge sharing, and community building.

Our ties to the Las Vegas community and passion for helping people profit from their passion made this a perfect-pairing. Spreadshop’s presence at MCON was about more than showcasing our business model; it was an opportunity for us to demonstrate how merch can empower veterans and veteran groups to tell their stories, build community, and generate a steady source of income. Merch can be a real game-changer for groups like veterans, and Spreadshop streamlines the whole process.

We want to highlight some of the inspiring conversations we had at the event with veterans and share more about our relationship with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. Let’s recap our experience at MCON and explore more about how merch can become a powerful tool for veterans and veteran advocates alike.

What is MCON?

MCON, short for the Military Community Networking Conference, is an annual event that brings together veterans, military families, business leaders, and community advocates. The purpose of MCON is to empower veterans through professional networking, skill-building sessions, and access to resources that support their journey into civilian careers or entrepreneurship.

For veterans, transitioning from the military back into their everyday lives can often be challenging, and MCON provides a critical bridge by connecting them with businesses, mentors, and organizations dedicated to their empowerment and success.

The conference attracts a diverse range of attendees, from corporate sponsors and startup founders to nonprofit organizations focused on veteran support and advocacy. This year’s event saw a powerful convergence of voices: the American Legion, Navy Federal Credit Union, the Vegas Chamber, and many more.

MCON’s mission is particularly relevant to Spreadshop, whose commitment to helping creators and entrepreneurs aligns closely with the goals of MCON. Both of us share a dedication to breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship and creating pathways for groups like veterans to turn their skills into successful ventures.

Spreadshop’s involvement at MCON wasn’t just about building brand awareness; it was about joining a community that values resilience, independence, and economic opportunity.

Spreadshop provides veterans and veteran groups the tools they need to launch a merch line that can support their causes, connect with their communities, and transform their ideas into a tangible reality.

Meaningful Conversations

Throughout the weekend, the Spreadshop team had the pleasure of engaging in meaningful conversations with veterans and their families. MCON created a warm, welcoming environment where attendees felt comfortable discussing their experiences, business aspirations, and personal goals.

Veterans are an exceptionally kind, considerate, and appreciative community, and it was clear they valued authentic, one-on-one conversations about how merch is beneficial to them. Many veterans expressed a desire to connect with something bigger - whether through building a brand, supporting a cause, or fostering a sense of community - and were excited by the possibilities that custom merch can bring.

A common theme in our conversations was the curiosity and openness veterans had toward learning about print-on-demand merch. Many were already familiar with the concept, while others were actively seeking solutions to streamline any existing merch they may have. Spreadshop’s print-on-demand model, with no inventory hassle or upfront costs, struck a chord with those looking to simplify their processes and boost the reach of their products. People were eager to exchange contacts, discuss potential collaborations, and explore ways Spreadshop could help them achieve their business goals.

One particular highlight was the enthusiastic response of our North American production facility being located right in Las Vegas. Knowing that their merch could be produced locally added a level of excitement and trust for many attendees, as they saw this as an opportunity to support local industry while enhancing their own merch operations.

Partnering with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce

Spreadshop is thrilled to announce that we are now officially a part of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce! This is an exciting venture for us and a great opportunity for us to connect with local leaders and businesses in the Las Vegas community. We decided to kickstart this partnership by making some co-branded T-shirts to give away at our booth.

This FREE swag featured the phrase “From Camouflage to Commerce” on the front with each of our logos on the back. The T-shirts were a big hit and led to many meaningful conversations. Any T-shirts we didn’t give away will go to vet groups in the Las Vegas community.

This is a collaboration rooted in a shared commitment to fostering economic opportunities for veterans and the local community. This partnership aims to create accessible pathways for veterans to pursue entrepreneurship by simplifying the process of launching a custom merch shop, making it easier for them to transform their ideas into thriving businesses.

By working together, Spreadshop and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce hope to empower veterans and those in the community to establish their own brands, reach wider audiences, and achieve financial independence through merch.

Spreadshop’s experience at MCON was both inspiring and impactful, reinforcing our commitment to supporting veterans as they explore new avenues of entrepreneurship and community building through merch. From meaningful conversations with attendees to the excitement around our new partnership with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, this event highlighted the powerful role merch can play in helping veterans achieve their goals and connect with others.

We’re excited about continuing to empower veterans and the Las Vegas community, providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed.
