Amari Carter Creates Change With NIL

Amari Carter Creates Change With NIL

Amari Carter – safety for the Miami Hurricanes – is creating change thanks to newfound NIL opportunities. Amari is using merch to benefit his nonprofit, the Survive Foundation, which provides food and resources to underserved, homeless communities.

College athletes can now monetize from their name and build a brand through NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals. While this money is nice pocket change for a hardworking student, many of these athletes, like Amari, are donating it in service of charitable organizations.

Amari’s Spreadshop is bringing awareness to the issue of hunger, something that means a lot to him. He’s making big moves on and off the field. And both parts of his life are inspirational.

Merch For Good

Merch For Good

Amari was moved to start the Survive Foundation while enjoying a lunch date with his girlfriend, Emilee. They realized how fortunate they were to afford food and be provided service at a restaurant. So many people are struggling out there wondering when/how they’ll get their next meal.

Amari wanted to do something about it. After lunch, they went to Aldi’s to prepare baggies to hand out to people in Downtown Orlando. This kind  gesture was the launching pad for The Survive Foundation.

But the foundation is more than providing food to these communities; it’s about creating a real human connection.

“The biggest thing is seeing them and acknowledging them,” Carter told the Palm Beach Post. “I feel many times we’ll see someone on the side of the road or someone who could use help, sometimes people act like they don’t see them.”

Amari is an inspiration on and off the field. Help support his fight against hunger when you buy his merch. All proceeds go directly to the Survive Foundation!

Use Targeted Ads to Engage Your Niche

Use Targeted Ads to Engage Your Niche

Targeted ads are an effective way to engage your niche and market your merch. Who needs a complex marketing strategy when you can go directly to the source?

Whatever niche your merch falls into – crafting, sports, an obscure music genre – there’s likely an audience for it. You just have to find them. Keywords, demographics and eye-catching images can all help you engage with a niche group.

Targeted ads bring all these elements together and are easy to run across socials like Instagram and Facebook. Knowing your merch is essential. Read on to see how targeted ads can take your Spreadshop merch to the next level!

Go to the Source

Go to the Source

Even with clear direction, traditional marketing campaigns aren’t as effective as targeted ads. Target ads allow you to specify the people you’re targeting in greater detail. Reach those in your area or on a national level with key words that are relevant to your niche.

Find the most commonly used hashtags related to your niche and use that for inspiration. See what posts are trending in those categories and what the content looks like. What makes the biggest impact for users on a particular platform?

Going straight to the source lets you bypass people who wouldn’t be interested in your merch anyway. You can get more with your money and out of your marketing strategy this way. You don’t have to worry about finding an audience and attracting followers. Make it easy: go to them.

Be Personal

Be Personal

Using targeted ads to engage your niche allows you to speak in a more personal way. You don’t have to craft language that can apply to a slew of demographics. Use language that you know people in your niche will relate to.

Relay inside jokes or phrases that only those you’re targeting will understand. People are more inclined to interact with posts that feel authentic. Marketing jargon won’t get you very far. Treat these ads like you’re talking to a friend or family member. Make your message simple/ New merch designs, exclusive offers and sales are just a few ways to hook people on socials.

You’re already a brand, whether you know it or not. Spreadshop just helps you take it to the next level.

Tailor Your Content

Tailor Your Content

The kind of content you use for your targeted ads is key. You want posts that make users stop mid-scroll. Slide-through posts are a great way to generate more engagement. Show different products from your shop so people can see the range of merch you have. T-shirts aren’t the only merch item out there! We’ve got plenty of products to choose from.

Choose photos that capture your merch. Avoid using stock images and take the time to create your own promotional materials. Putting in that extra effort is going to make your merch look so much more appealing. These are photos that you can use in ads now and continue to use for different types of promotions you have in the future.

Plenty of promos coming up!

Create a Connection

Create a Connection

The best thing that can come from targeted ads: a meaningful connection. It’s nice if people buy some of your merch or follow your account based on a post. But it means even more when those people remain dedicated to your content and merch.

Targeted ads are a great entry point for people new to your merch. You can approach them in a way that feels natural because they’re the ones that are going to relate. The message of your ads doesn’t need to be about specific merch items, either. It can be an introduction to your Spreadshop as a whole.

Connections are made when you appear authentic and dedicated to what you’re doing. People can tell when someone’s not genuine. You just have to be you. That’s what targeted ads can help you do.

Why Spreadshop is the Best Platform for Your Merch

Why Spreadshop is the Best Platform for Your Merch

Spreadshop is the best platform for all your merch needs. We’re a print on-demand platform, which means we do all the heavy lifting. YOU upload the designs; WE take care of the orders.

The signup process literally takes seconds. Where you take your shop from there is up to you. Choose the type of merch products and styles you want to sell. Decide on the placement of your designs. The best part: you get a portion of the sales!

In case you needed any more convincing, we break down why Spreadshop is the best platform in the merch game.

Start Selling

Start Selling

Start selling your merch in minutes thanks to our speedy signup form. Pick a shop name (don’t worry you can always change it later). All you have to do after that is enter your email, pick a password and you’re in! We don’t ask your birth certificate to open up a shop. Once you breeze through the signup, you have a customizable site at your disposal.

Pick a theme with a layout best suited for your merch. Add personal touches by linking to your socials and telling potential customers your story. These tweaks are going to show you are invested in your brand. Even if your merch is just a side hustle, you should still have a site that best reflects the work you put into it.

We also recommend adjusting the features of your Spreadshop every now and then. Feature your latest designs in a prominent area, like the home page. Put relevant merch items up front depending on the season. This is going to keep your shop fresh and your customers invested!

Monthly Earnings

Monthly Earnings

You mean to tell me you can earn money with your merch? And Spreadshop even allows you to set your own prices.

We set a base price for every item in order to make a profit, but anything you set above that goes directly to you. Keep in mind what your customers expect and are willing to pay for. We don’t recommend overpricing things just because you can. $25 to $30 is standard for a t-shirt, just like $15 is standard for a coffee mug.

You can adjust these prices whenever you want to run a sale. But, did you know: we have promos every month? Discount offers from 10 to 20 percent are common at some point during the month. Remind your followers about these savings on your socials ahead of time.

You’ll get paid every month depending on what you sell during that time frame. What you did with this money is up to you. Reinvest it in your shop, make a splurge purchase, etc. Keep up to date with your shop earnings by downloading the Spreadshop app: SpreadApp.

Easy Design Upload

Easy Design Upload

We make it easy to upload your merch designs and even recommend the best dimensions and file types so your designs look their best.

The resolution of your designs should be at least 1000 pixels on the shorter side, and 4000 pixels on the longer side. You can upload your designs in different file types like JPG and PNG. If your design has a transparent background, PNGs are the only files that support that feature.

Browse for the files in your library or drag and drop them into the designs tab of your shop. Once your design pops up, you can start to put it on merch and customize the fit for each item in your Spreadshop. Make it larger on t-shirts and hoodies, and smaller on mugs and stickers. Placement is up to you!

Not a graphic designer? No worries. There are plenty of easy-to-use tools that will get you print-ready designs. Make designs for FREE from your phone and avoid Photoshop with comparable options at no cost.

Build Your Merch Line

Build Your Merch Line

We have an extensive range of products that you can put your designs on. Activate designs in the backend of your shop and choose where they live based on categories.

Our apparel options come in a wide range of colors. If you want to give your customers the freedom to choose, leave all the options on. But if you want to be more selective and keep with an aesthetic for your shop, activate a select few. You tailor the shopping experience to your liking.

As mentioned before, it’s important to cater to the seasons with different merch styles. Make sure hoodies and long sleeve options are prominently promoted in the colder months. Same for tank tops and water bottles during the summer. We even have exclusive merch available during the Holiday season.

Spreadshop is the best platform for your merch because it’s easy-to-use and gives shop owners flexibility for their merch.

Show Appreciation For Your Customers

Show Appreciation For Your Customers

As a shop owner, it’s important to show appreciation for your customers all year round. The Holiday season reminds us how fortunate we are to have certain people in our lives. And your Spreadshop customers are no exception!

Without their support, you wouldn’t be able to fulfill your passion or build your brand. It doesn’t matter if merch is just a side hustle, either. They’re still giving you the opportunity to amplify your message and that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

So thank them for it! Send thank you notes, engage with them directly, do giveaways to show you appreciate their support. Your customers will feel even better about repping your merch if you put in the effort.

Send Thank You Notes

Send Thank You Notes

You may not be able to see who orders from your Spreadshop, but there’s still ways to thank your customers. Put the word out on socials that you want to see people rocking your merch. Ask them to post photos of themselves on Instagram, Twitter, wherever, using a specific hashtag. Doing it this way allows you to thank them directly.

Send a personalized DM to each person who uses the hashtag. Make sure the message feels authentic rather than a copy and paste situation. Share the photos on your own socials to spotlight your customers even more. This might even encourage others to buy your merch!

Run a Giveaway

Run a Giveaway

Putting on a giveaway is a fun and effective way to show appreciation for your customers. Everyone loves the opportunity to win FREE stuff! It’s also a great way to promote new merch drops.

If you want there to be more than one winner, use different merch to mark the prize levels. Offer small merch items like stickers and magnets and bigger items like hoodies and water bottles. This shows your customers the wide range of products you have available in your shop, too. Putting on a giveaway might not seem worth it, but it’s going to give your Spreadshop way more promotion than a traditional ad campaign.

Find a Merch Designer

Find a Merch Designer

Why not get your customers involved in the design process? They know what kind of merch they want to see from you and have ideas you might not have considered. Run a competition or bracket where your followers can vote on their favorite merch designs. Do it everyday for a week on your socials. This will get your followers more involved, and boost your engagement on socials.

You’re putting your merch in the hands of your supporters; that’s a definite sign of appreciation. Running a competition like this strengthens the community around your brand. You’re emphasizing the fact that you can’t do it alone and don’t want to. You need input from your followers to continue to grow with your merch.

Share Their Photos on Socials

Share Their Photos on Socials

If your customers are taking the time to post merch selfies on socials, it means they care. And so should you. Re-posting these photos on your socials is a no brainer. It makes for great content and shows that there is trust in your brand.

People also like to see what merch looks like on other people. Seeing a photo of a folded t-shirt doesn’t really spark that much interest. It’s not going to elicit a big reaction while scrolling your feed. But if you see someone wearing an item, it totally changes the vibe. It’s bringing a personality to your merch that you just can’t fabricate.

Showing appreciation for your customers is essential to growing your merch brand and building meaningful relationships. We hope these tips help and can’t wait to see how you use them!
